Chilli Ginger Chicken

Ingredients

  • 500gms Chicken breast
  • 1 cup sliced onion
  • ¼ cup capsicum
  • 4 green chillies
  • Pinch of turmeric powder
  • ¼ tsp pepper powder
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1 tbsp. ginger – garlic paste
  • 1tbsp julienne ginger (i.e gingercut into thin strips)
  • Oil
  • 1 tbsp. thick yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • ½ tsp garam masala
  • salt to taste

Preparation

  • Add all the ingredients (except oil and lemon juice) to chicken pieces and keep aside for about 30mins
  • On a high heat, heat oil in a thick bottomed pan or wok and add chicken mixture.
  • Mix well with the oil.
  • Close lid and cook for 15 mins on a medium heat
  • Switch off the heat once chicken is cooked and mix lemon juice
  • Serve hot with rice, roti or bread
